This course will use Blackboard
for reading assignments and a class discussion group.
My office is Room 334 (tel: 212-636-6843). Office hours are
Thursdays from 3:45pm to 5:15pm. I am usually available
in my office both before and after class for conferences as well as
other
times by appointment .
Grades in the course will be
determined by a final examination to be scheduled by the Registrar.
In
cases of exceptional class participation, a student's final grade may
be increased from the examination grade.
Preparation for class and
attendance are mandatory. Any student who is repeatedly
unprepared for
class or repeatedly absent may be penalized on the final grade or may
become ineligible for course credit (i.e. fail the course.)
For the first class on Aug. 30,
please read pp. 1-15 in the casebook. For the second class on Sept. 1,
please read pp. 15-21 and 26-36.
During the semester, we will
cover approximately 20 pages each class from the casebook. At the end
of each week, I will announce in class and then post the reading
assignment for the following week.
During the fall semester, class will meet on Tuesdays from 2:00
to 3:55pm and on Thursdays from 2:00 to 3:25pm. Class will
not meet on the
following days: Sept. 13, 15, Oct. 4, 27, possible Nov. 17.
